FREE LIVE PLAYER DEVELOPMENT TRAINING

Most Serious Players Aren't Falling Behind Because They Need to Do More. They're Falling Behind Because They Don't Know What Actually Matters.

Former MLS & USMNT player Chris Mueller breaks down the 3 standards he learned over a 10-year professional career, and how young players can use them to train with more purpose, develop with more clarity, and stop guessing about what they need to do next.

What You'll Learn

This isn't another list of drills or things to add to your schedule. It's a framework for understanding what actually drives development, and where to focus next.

  • Why doing more isn't always the answer, and how serious players can work extremely hard while still focusing on the wrong things.

  • The 3 standards Chris saw separate players as the level got higher, from youth soccer through college and the professional game.

  • How to identify what your player actually needs right now instead of constantly reacting to trainers, social media, teammates, showcases and outside opinions.

  • How elite players approach development beyond practice, including preparation, mindset, recovery, ownership and learning the game.

If you show up and take notes, here’s the shift you can expect.

Before This Training:

  • Is my player doing enough?

  • Are we spending our time and money on the right things?

  • What should they actually be working on outside team practice?

  • What matters now, and what can wait?

  • How do we help without creating more pressure?

After This Training:

  • What actually deserves your attention right now

  • The standards players need as they move up levels

  • Where extra work helps, and where "more" becomes noise

  • How players can take greater ownership of their development

  • How to make better decisions about training, preparation and the path ahead

This Training Is For Soccer Families Who Take Development Seriously

You don't need to be chasing a professional contract. But you should care about becoming the best player you can realistically become.

Players Who Work Hard, But Aren't Always Sure What To Work On

You already care. You train. You want to improve. This will help you understand where to put that effort instead of simply adding more.

Parents Trying to Help Without Adding Pressure

You want to support your player, but youth soccer can feel like an endless stream of trainers, camps, showcases, advice and comparison. This will help you separate what matters from what doesn't.

Families Playing the Long Game

Whether your player is 9 or 18, development isn't about winning the race this month. It's about building the habits, awareness and foundation that keep helping as the level rises.

This Probably Isn't For You If...

There are no guarantees in soccer. This training is about understanding the standards, decisions and habits that give serious players a better chance to reach their potential.

  • You're looking for a "secret drill" that will transform your game overnight.

  • You believe another camp, trainer or showcase automatically equals better development.

  • You're only interested in recruiting hacks or shortcuts.

  • You're unwilling to take ownership of your own development.

  • You want someone to promise your player a scholarship or professional career.

What Players & Parents Are Saying

BTB exists to give players the kind of perspective, education and guidance that can be difficult to find inside the normal youth soccer environment.

"Chris doesn't sugarcoat the process. That's exactly what our daughter needed."

"He shares the hard truths about discipline, setbacks, and the work required when no one is watching. This course didn't just inspire her as an athlete. It helped her grow as a young person."

Meet Chris Mueller, Your Host

Chris spent 10 years competing at the highest levels of the game, including MLS, European football and the U.S. Men's National Team.

But the reason he created BTB wasn't to teach young players how to copy his career.

It was because, looking back, some of the most important lessons he learned about development had very little to do with another drill.

They were about learning what mattered, how to prepare, how to respond when things went wrong, how to take ownership, and how to keep improving as the level rose.

BTB exists to make those lessons easier for the next generation of players to access.

  • 10+ years as a professional soccer player

  • MLS veteran, former US Men's National Team member

  • 2x All-American at the University of Wisconsin-Madison

  • Known for giving young athletes the honest, straight-talk guidance they don't get anywhere else

"I built this to be simple, clear, and real, because that's what I needed when I was a young player trying to figure it all out."

Got a Question?

Here’s what most people ask before attending.

Is this training for players or parents?

Both. Players will learn how to take more ownership of their development, while parents will gain a clearer framework for supporting their player without constantly adding more.

What ages is this for?

The training is designed primarily for players ages 9–18 and their parents. The exact priorities change as players get older, but the underlying standards apply across the development journey.

Does my player need to be elite?

No. The training isn't only for academy, college-bound or professional prospects. It's for players who genuinely care about improving and families who want to approach development more intentionally.

Is this another training program or drill session?

No. Chris is teaching the developmental principles and standards he believes matter most based on his experience progressing from youth soccer through the professional game.

Is this about college recruiting?

Recruiting may become relevant for older players, but this training is much broader. The focus is on becoming a better, more prepared, more intentional player first.
